Buffalo style Oyster Mushrooms
Ingredients
*1 pound oyster mushrooms
BATTER
- 1/2 C whole milk or soy milk
- 1/2 C water
- 3/4 C all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
BREADING
- 2 C all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp celery salt
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
Directions
Mix batter ingredients together in a bowl and dip oyster mushrooms into batter to marinate. While mushrooms marinate in batter combine breading ingredients in separate bowl and get oil heated to 350 degrees. Dip the marinated mushrooms into breading and coat evenly. Place mushrooms carefully into the heated oil and allow to fry for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown. Remove mushrooms and place on rack or towel to absorb any oil and ensure they stay crispy. Drizzle mushrooms with your favorite hot sauce and serve with pickles and ranch dressing for dipping. Enjoy!
